In Memory Benedict XVI : 3

Pope Benedict XVI vestments
Continuing our series of photographs in tribute to His late Holiness, this collection of photographs features Benedict XVI with his predecessors, Ss Paul VI and John Paul II.

The adjacent photographs were taken at the Mass of the Rings in Saint Peter's, following Joseph Ratzinger's creation as a Cardinal-priest in 1977 by Pope Paul VI.

The beautiful Four Evangelists mitre, usually worn by Pope Paul, is shewn in the photographs. At this time, Cardinal Ratzinger was Archbishop of Munich.

Good Friday 2004.
When John Paul had become too infirm to offer Mass publicly,
he was frequently assisted by his friend,
the Dean of the College of Cardinals,
Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger.

Eternal Rest grant unto him, O Lorde, with your saints forever, for you are merciful.
